IN2AIR:
How safe is your air?
Air Pollution and You
Indoor Air Pollution
Air pollution is a leading cause of ill health and premature death worldwide. It particularly affects the young, the elderly, and those with pre-existing conditions. New initiatives in energy-efficiency, mean new changes in indoor air, and potentially human health and wellbeing.

Why In2Air?
The In2Air project is designed to help you answer these questions, and more, about indoor air pollution in your home.
About In2Air
With energy prices and cost of living on the rise, and challenging targets to reduce the production of greenhouse gases, the energy efficiency of our homes is of increasing importance. Tackling climate change (through reduced household energy use), together with improving indoor air quality offers a significant opportunity to improve residents’ health and well-being.
Newcastle City Council are undertaking energy efficiency improvements to its homes. The In2Air study will collect paired indoor/outdoor air quality, energy use, and health information from householders for 3 – 4 weeks before any energy efficiency renovations take place, and after. We want to know if energy efficiency renovations improve household indoor air quality, as well as lower the amount of energy used in the home.
